Hotel Ilveslinna is located in the centre of Ranua, by the Lake Ranuanjärvi. Iso-Syöte mountain area, Korouoma outdoor recreational area with canyons, Arktikum museum and science centre in Rovaniemi, Santapark, Snowcastle of Kemi, Icebreaker Sampo, and Jalo Gemstone Gallery are all located within a one-hour drive. For fishermen, boaters, and hikers, the scenic Lake Simojärvi and the River Simojoki are memorable places to visit.

The hotel has a food and dance restaurant seating 120 persons, karaoke pub, conference facilities for 15 and 40 persons, 2 saunas, yacuzzi, pool hall, and play room for children.
